Wednesday, August 27, 2008 blackgivesback The Virginia Icon: Annual Music Competition Honors Virginia Native and R&B Star Trey Songz

The Virginia Icon 2008 semi-finalists participated in a skills workshop, Saturday, August 16, 2008, at Richmond's Hyperlink Cafe. Mr. Harold Young, founder and executive director of Pittsburgh's Jazz Workshop, Inc., facilitated the workshop which included special appearances by Ms. April Tucker, mother of R&B singer and songwriter, Trey Songz, and popular Richmond teen vocal talent, dancer, and winner of Live at the Apollo, Imani Crosby.

Trey Songz will appear at the event to receive the 2008 Virginia Icon Trailblazer Award, and he will also perform. Be there to experience this phenomenal vocal talent, songwriter, and Petersburg, Virginia native. Learn how Trey Songz gives back to his Petersburg community and hear about his program that will make a difference for youth nationwide. Know why PEATC selected Trey Songz to receive the Virginia Icon Trailblazer Award.
